Christian Beliefs

We could spend all day talking about the specifics of our beliefs... But that is better done in person.  So in the meantime, here are the basics of the Christian Faith.

God
We believe that there is one and only one living and true God and that He is the God of the Bible.  God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful and all knowing; and His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future. God created all things in the universe from nothing including Man.
God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.  God the Father is to be worshiped and given all Glory.  God the Son (Jesus) is to be followed and is the Head of The Church. The Holy Spirit is to be listened to and be free to work in and through our lives.

The Bible
The Holy Bible is God’s word.  It was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

Man
Man is the special creation of God, originally created in the image and likeness of God. God created mankind male and female as the crowning work of His creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race.  Therefore, all men are born with a sinful nature.  This sin nature and choice of sin by all man results in both physical and spiritual death, separation from God and condemnation to an eternity in Hell.  Man can only be saved from these consequences through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ by believing In Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Salvation
Salvation is offered to all people by God through His only son Jesus Christ.  Jesus died on the Cross so that we might be saved. Those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit and become the children of God thereby receiving the gift of eternal life in the New Heaven and New Earth that is to come.  This is a gift that cannot be earned or purchased but simply accepted by faith.

The Church
The local church is a group of people who are committed to Jesus' teachings, exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His Word.  The local church is a part of the Body of Christ also called The Church, which includes all of the redeemed of all the ages.  The Body of Christ as a whole, as local churches and as individuals should strive to work together to accomplish the work and desires of Jesus Christ, who is the Head of the Body of Christ.
